I often get asked, what is the difference between coaching and therapy?
In this video I’ll explain in 2 ways. The first is the simple theoretical difference. The second is by using a case study to show why the 2 often need to work hand in hand in order to create effective change. Case studies, especially those involving therapy, are often deeply personal and people don’t want them shared. That is why I’ve used myself as the case study. How I worked both with a therapist and a coach to create a change.
I also discuss why I no longer identify either as a coach or a therapist and sit squarely in the middle. Perhaps a good term would be that I’m a therapeutic coach.
